A very warm welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
EYFS is taught BY Mrs Caton in Seals and Mrs Eddiford in Dolphins. Mrs Bromige, Mrs Tippett and Mrs Tinn support the EYFS team in the mornings and afternoons throughout the week.
Below is the EYFS long term overview which provides a broad and balanced curriculum for our children. We also involve the children in their learning and find out what they would like to learn. We then incorporate all of these ideas throughout the topics each half term. Some learning is adult directed and some is child led but it all focuses on a play-based approach to ensure all our children have the time and space to develop into happy, confident, well rounded individuals who are ready to take on the adventures and challenges of the National Curriculum!
Below is an overview of Reception's learning journey, Talk for Writing texts and maths. Children in EYFS start learning to read on Day 1 of school using the Read Write Inc phonics programme. For more information on how we teach phonics, please click here.
Parents can access their child's learning and class information via Tapestry.
